Week 16 Predictions

Last week was another solid one for my predictions, but these last two weeks of the regular season should be tougher to project. Entering this holiday weekend, four of the 12 playoff spots have been clinched, with three of the eight division winners having been decided. The Cowboys have also already clinched home field in their path through the NFC. With some of the games on this slate, there are other divisions that could be decided, and teams who are essentially eliminated by the end of this weekend. Regardless of who you root for, it should be very interesting to see how the games unfold.

Last week: 12-4, Season: 139-85

Last week against the spread: 7-9, Season: 111-113

Game of the weak: 49ers vs Rams: The last time these teams met also represents the first and last time the 49ers have won in 2016. With the 49ers winning in a 28-0 blowout, it was probably a decent sign that the Rams first season in Los Angeles wouldn’t go smoothly. And here we are, with both of these teams having nothing to play for. Heck, the Rams can’t even say they’re playing for their draft pick after using it to trade up for Jared Goff. Goff has passed the concussion protocol and will start this one. For his sake, I’m sure a win would be a nice way to finish what has been an interesting rookie year. 49ers 16 Rams (-4.5) 20

Game of the week: Ravens vs Steelers: This is all you can really ask for in a game at the end of the regular season. If the Ravens win, they control their own destiny where a week 17 win would clinch them the AFC North. If the Steelers win, they clinch the AFC North and can get ready for the postseason. While the Steelers have one of the more explosive offenses in the league, the Ravens have had success in recent years containing them. Those usually result in Ravens wins as they don’t have the firepower to afford getting into many 34-31 style games. As you are probably aware, there isn’t any love lost between these teams, as it projects to be a physical and tightly contested game. Ravens 20 Steelers (-5.5) 24

Dolphins 24 Bills (-4.5) 17

Jets 13 Patriots (-16.5) 26

Titans 26 Jaguars (+5.5) 20

Vikings 17 Packers (-6.5) 23

Chargers 26 Browns (+6.5) 21

Redskins 24 Bears (+3.5) 21

Falcons 27 Panthers (+3.5) 23

Colts 21 Raiders (-3.5) 27

Buccaneers 26 Saints (-3.5) 23

Cardinals 17 Seahawks (-8.5) 21

Bengals 23 Texans (-1.5) 20

Broncos 16 Chiefs (-3.5) 20

Lions 20 Cowboys (-7.5) 24
