In most leagues, the week is finally here. The time where your whole fantasy season will be decided: championship week. While your team probably got to this point on a combination of savvy and luck, it is possible that a last minute waiver move could make the difference in this entire season. While the options are limited, there are players available in a good amount of leagues that could make a difference if called upon.
Joseph Randle, RB Cowboys: Randle’s memorable moment of the 2014 season was stealing underwear and cologne from a Dallas mall. However in the rare times DeMarco Murray has been off the field, Randle has impressed averaging seven yards a carry. With a slight chance of Murray missing Sunday’s action, Randle is a must add in all formats. The Colts have struggled against the run all year, and the Cowboys will want to keep Andrew Luck and company off the field. Pick him up, and if Murray ends up not playing, plug him in your lineup with confidence.
Toby Gerhart, RB Jaguars: 2014 was supposed to be a breakout year for Gerhart. Instead, he was hampered by injuries and saw Denard Robinson emerge in his absence. With Robinson out for the year, Gerhart now has the starting job back and could come up big when owners need him. Teams have been able to run on the Titans all year and even with the Jaguars offensive line issues, they’re going to give Gerhart his touches. If you need a flex option this week, Gerhart on volume alone is a solid option.
Harry Douglas, WR Falcons: With Julio Jones out against the Steelers, Douglas stepped up in a big way. Targeted a team high 14 times, he caught ten passes for 131 yards in a day that is impressive in any format. With Jones’ status uncertain in another game with shootout potential, Douglas is a nice player to stash on your bench this week. If Jones does sit out again, feel free to plug Douglas into your lineup. He should be relied heavily upon again which makes him even more valuable in leagues with PPR.
