Week Nine Predictions

600x39945Last week was once again a solid one for my predictions. I had another nice week straight up, and continue to hover around .500 for the year against the spread. While this week will have six teams on bye, the loss of three games is made up with some very exciting matchups. This includes one late afternoon game in particular that you might have heard some buildup to.

Last week: 11-4, Season: 79-42

Last week against the spread: 7-8, Season: 60-61

Game of the weak: Buccaneers vs Browns: Did you know that if they didn’t hand the Jaguars a game and win here, the Browns would be 6-2? I know, I can’t believe it either. If the Browns want to keep their playoff hopes alive, they need to win this one as the rest of their schedule on paper looks tough. The Buccaneers are the main reason as to why this game claims the title. In only a few months, they’ve gone from upstart NFC South contender to sellers at the trade deadline. The rebuild in Tampa is officially underway. Buccaneers 17 Browns (-6.5) 26

Game of the week: Broncos vs Patriots: Oh, like I had a choice with this one. Both teams are coming in red hot and early signs are this could be another AFC Championship preview. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady haven’t lost a step and we can only hope they get into a shootout like Andrew Luck and Ben Roethlisberger did last week. With the way these two teams are playing, picking a winner is almost impossible. So what I’m using here is the projected weather forecast. Right now, signs are pointing to a cold and windy afternoon which could limit Manning’s capabilities. Sometimes the best defense is played by Mother Nature. Broncos 27 Patriots (+3.5) 31

Jaguars 17 Bengals (-11.5) 30

Cardinals 26 Cowboys (-4.5) 23

Eagles 27 Texans (+2.5) 23

Jets 16 Chiefs (-9.5) 26

Chargers 24 Dolphins (-2.5) 21

Redskins 20 Vikings (-0.5) 21

Rams 20 49ers (-10.5) 33

Raiders 14 Seahawks (-15.5) 30

Ravens 24 Steelers (+1.5) 26

Colts 27 Giants (+3.5) 23
