Week Eight Predictions

Last week was another average week in terms of straight up predictions but was very rough once again in terms of the spread. It was yet another example that anything can happen on any given Sunday full of NFL football. This week, six teams are on bye which equals only 13 games this week. While the quantity of football to consume is down this week, it should still be yet another exciting weekend of games.

Last week: 8-7, Season: 64-43
Last week against the spread: 4-11, Season: 43-64

Game of the weak: Steelers vs Raiders: The Steelers are coming off two straight wins but now have to go into “The Black Hole” for what is always a tough road trip. The Raiders have had games where they look impressive but have been inconsistent. A lot of that could have to do with Terrelle Pryor who has had his fair share of ups and downs through six games. Look for Dick LeBeau and the Steelers defense to find ways to pressure him which could lead to a good amount of sacks and multiple turnovers. Steelers 23 Raiders (+2.5) 20

Game of the week: Cowboys vs Lions: This game equals the halfway point for both teams and will be a good indicator of where they stand if they hope to make playoff pushes. Both teams have plenty of talent but are still learning how to finish close games. If you’re a fan of offense, this is one for you as the tandems of Tony Romo/Dez Bryant and Matthew Stafford/Calvin Johnson should light up the scoreboards with both teams having difficulty stopping the pass. Cowboys 26 Lions (-3.5) 31

49ers 31 Jaguars(+16.5) 14
Browns 13 Chiefs(-7.5) 24
Dolphins 20 Patriots(-6.5) 24
Bills 17 Saints(-10.5) 33
Giants 23 Eagles(-5.5) 28
Jets 16 Bengals(-6.5) 23
Redskins 26 Broncos (-13.5) 37
Falcons 24 Cardinals(-2.5) 21
Packers 33 Vikings(+8.5) 20
Seahawks 31 Rams (+10.5) 13
