Week 6 Predictions

Brady BreesWeek five wasn’t my greatest in terms of predictions and it just goes to show what separates the NFL from all the other leagues. There is no match in terms of the week to week parody displayed and that is why aside from two or three teams it is too early to give up on a team’s postseason hopes.

Last week: 7-7, Season: 47-30
Last week against the spread: 6-8, Season: 34-43

Game of the weak: Eagles vs Buccaneers: Chip Kelly has been very secretive in terms of naming a starting quarterback this week. There is a very good chance of a Nick Foles/Mike Glennon showdown here. I’m going to be interested to see how the Eagles defense fares against Glennon. If the pass defense wants to show any signs of life, going against a quarterback making his second career start is the time to do it. Eagles 24 Buccaneers (+1.5) 20

Game of the week: Saints vs Patriots: Anytime Drew Brees squares off against Tom Brady, it’s going to be pretty tough to top. The Saints are coming off a big road win against the Bears and now have to try and do it again in Foxboro. The Patriots are coming off a tough loss to the Bengals and could benefit from a possible return of Rob Gronkowski. However, that is in doubt due to questions regarding his offseason arm surgery. Considering his arm has been infected several times post surgery, is it possible the Patriots in one of their many draft day trades can just deal a third rounder for an above average surgeon? Saints 27 Patriots (-2.5) 23

Steelers 20 Jets(-2.5) 24
Lions 21 Browns(+2.5) 20
Panthers 17 Vikings(-2.5) 23
Bengals 24 Bills(+7.5) 13
Raiders 14 Chiefs(-9.5) 24
Packers 24 Ravens(+2.5) 27
Rams 17 Texans(-7.5) 28
Jaguars 17 Broncos(-26.5) 41
Titans 14 Seahawks(-13.5) 30
Cardinals 20 49ers (-10.5) 26
Redskins 20 Cowboys (-5.5) 28
Colts 28 Chargers(+1.5) 23
