Week Five Predictions

Andrew LuckWeek four was my first of the year in which I went above .500 in terms of picking games against the spread. It just goes to show that despite the amount of parody in the league, after a quarter of the season in the books it is easier to see what each team is made of. There are some very intriguing games on the slate this weekend so I’ll get straight to the picks.

Last week: 10-5, Season: 40-23
Last week against the spread: 11-4, Season: 28-35

Game of the weak: Jaguars vs Rams: In terms of “game of the weak” this one will be tough to top this season. These two teams have a combined record of 1-7 and I feel the Jaguars have a very legitimate chance to run the table the wrong way this year. That will be covered in detail in a later article. Unless you have players on your fantasy team involved or you’re a degenerate gambler, chances are you won’t want to watch this one. Jaguars 14 Rams (-11.5) 27

Game of the week: Seahawks vs Colts: The first matchup between Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck has the looks of a great one. The Seahawks have already proven they could win on the road but the Colts defense is much stingier than you would think. On the other side, it will be interesting to see how Luck handles playing the best secondary in the league in what could be his biggest test to date. Seahawks 24 Colts(+3.5) 21

Saints 26 Bears(-.5) 23
Patriots 24 Bengals(-1.5) 20
Lions 26 Packers(-7.5) 30
Chiefs 24 Titans(+3.5) 16
Eagles 23 Giants(-2.5) 27
Ravens 17 Dolphins(-3.5) 23
Panthers 23 Cardinals(+2.5) 17
Broncos 37 Cowboys(+7.5) 24
Texans 17 49ers(-6.5) 26
Chargers 26 Raiders (+4.5) 21
Jets 14 Falcons(-10.5) 28
