Dolphins vs Bills Prediction

Tonight’s Thursday night game has the Miami Dolphins going on the road to face their division rival the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins have been out of sync the past few weeks and the Bills are coming off a hard fought game against the Patriots so it should make for an interesting game.

The main reasons why the Dolphins offense has struggled of late is due to the play of Reggie Bush. Earlier in the year, Bush was one of the league’s most productive running backs but in recent weeks he has been banged up and ineffective. An early fumble led to Bush being benched this past Sunday and he vowed to protect the ball the rest of the way. If Bush is effective it makes things that much easier for Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill has shown the attributes teams look for in a franchise quarterback but doesn’t have the weapons to succeed like some of the other rookie quarterbacks have. A struggling Bills secondary could help the Dolphins get back on track.

The Bills were talked about by many to make a run at a playoff berth this preseason but their defense has prevented them from making the next step. The passing game has been solid with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm but the running game is what should make the difference. With Fred Jackson ruled out, C.J. Spiller should receive all of his touches which is trouble for the Dolphins. Spiller has been fantastic running the ball averaging an insane 7.3 yards a carry and is also producing at a high level as a receiver. The Dolphins usually are strong against the run but they tend to struggle against running backs with Spiller’s skill set.

Overall, this game could end up being much more entertaining than people would think. This is a national audience’s first look at Tannehill and Spiller is a threat to score whenever he touches the ball.  When it’s all said and done, I feel that the impact Spiller will have on the game is the real deciding factor. Prediction: Dolphins 23 Bills (-2.5) 27
