Colts vs Jaguars Prediction

Tonight’s Thursday night game has the red hot Indianapolis Colts go on the road to take on their divisional rival the Jacksonville Jaguars. These two teams couldn’t be headed in more opposite directions. The Colts have won their last three games and the Jaguars have lost their past five since going into Indianapolis and beating the Colts.

The main reason why the Colts have been playing so well is the play of Andrew Luck. If you haven’t paid much attention to the NFL lately, this guy is pretty good. Luck is a rookie who plays like a ten year veteran and should continue to put up ridiculous numbers against a hurting Jaguars secondary.  The emergence of Luck has also brought Reggie Wayne back into the spotlight. Wayne’s currently leading the league in receiving yards and could be in for another big day. The defense is still led by Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis who have had their fair share of successes against the Jaguars

The Jaguars main issue is that as a whole they just don’t have that much talent on the roster. Blaine Gabbert receives a lot of negative attention nationally but he has taken steps forward. With Maurice Jones-Drew injured, Rashad Jennings has been given the opportunity as the lead back. Unfortunetly he hasn’t been able to capitalize like so many thought he would.  Both the offensive line and defensive line have been major issues for the Jaguars. The offensive line gives Gabbert little to no time to throw the ball while the defense continues to struggle rushing the passer.

Overall, this game has all the makings of a blowout but considering the Jaguars will be going all out in this divisional game it could end up being quite competitive. Knowing the Jaguars secondary it is just too hard to go against the success that Luck and the Colts have had lately.  Prediction: Colts 26 Jaguars(+3.5) 17
