It is another week of Thursday night football as the Jets and Broncos square off tonight in a game that shouldn’t involve much passing. The past few weeks have been very hard to explain for both teams. After an impressive road win against the Bills, the Jets looked like they had their swagger back as they geared up to play the rival Patriots at home. Things didn’t go according to plan as the team struggled mightily losing 37-16. However unlike last week, the Jets won’t have to spend much time worrying about defending the pass.
In the two weeks following the 45-10 loss at home to the Lions, the Broncos offense has changed drastically. They built the offense around Tim Tebow’s strengths and for the past two weeks they have been running the option. The Broncos have won both games they have played in that span and are somehow only a game back in a crazy AFC West. This is a true test for the Broncos new offense that many view as a gimmick as the Raiders and Chiefs defenses aren’t exactly in the same league as the Jets.
This game has the potential to be much closer than people think. The Jets are on a very short week, have to change time zones and adjust to the high altitude of Denver. However with a more well -rounded offense they should find a way to pull this game out. My prediction is Jets 23 Broncos (+4.5) 16.
