Early on in the season, this seemed like a game without much at stake. After an 0-6 start, it seemed like the Titans were destined for a top pick in this year’s draft. But with Vince Young at quarterback and a heavy dose of the electrifying Chris Johnson, the team has now won seven of it’s last eight to be in the thick of the playoff race. While the single season rushing record appears out of Johnson’s reach, he has a very good chance of breaking Marshall Faulk’s yards from scrimmage record and it could even go down tonight.
The Chargers are one of the league’s hottest teams and with one more win clinch the number two seed in the AFC. While most people are talking about either Payton Manning or Drew Brees for MVP, Philip Rivers is having an excellent season and when he is at the helm the Chargers just don’t lose in December as they have won an NFL record 17 straight.
While the Titans have been a great story with Young reviving his career and Johnson chasing Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record, the Chargers still have something to play for and will be a tough task for the Titans.
My prediction is Chargers 26 Titans 23
